Living in London on a budget
moove2london on 15 Oct 2009Many people who move to London are concerned about how expensive it’s going to be. Now, admittedly, according to research by ‘The Guardian’, it is the 16th most expensive city in the world (a fall from 3rd place in 2008!), but that doesn’t mean that living here is completely impossible, even for those at the more basic end of the wage scale.
There are plenty of things to do in the capital which are free or have a reduced price. Let’s start with bars – Late Night London , which has 29 bars distributed across London, does excellent promotions, including 50% off drinks – check out their site for details.
For more of an educational activity, go to any of London’s FREE museums such as the Imperial War Museum, the Museum of London, the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum or the Victoria and Albert Museum.
On a non-rainy day, take a stroll through one of the Royal Parks of London – there are many monuments and beautiful gardens worth a look at.
If you want to catch a show, discount tickets can be found at the TKTS booth in Leicester Square. They’re famous for on-the-day half-price tickets, but they also sell amazingly discounted advance tickets as well.
Discount Britain also offers discounts via a voucher method on their site, which offers 20% off amazing London restaurants and attractions such as London Dungeon, Chelsea Stadium Tours and the ZSL London zoo.
