Sam Smith’s pubs in London

moove2london on 09 Nov 2009

Although they’re actually a Yorkshire brewery, there are a great number of Sam Smith’s pubs in London. If you’re interested in swanky wine bars or cocktails, then this chain of pubs won’t be for you, but if you’re looking for a down to earth pint at a bargain price, then you should definitely give Sam Smith’s a whirl. There are lots of different ales available, but perhaps their most famous drink is actually a lager, called Alpine, formerly Ayeringerbrau. A pint of this is available at an average price of £2.16 which is staggeringly low. If you’re thinking that this means that Sam Smith’s pubs are dodgy or chavvy, then you’d be wrong. They’re actually really relaxed, popular Central London hangouts, which are quite ‘ye olde’ in style. One downside is that they don’t play music, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing as you can hear each other speak.

So, where are these pubs – well there are a million of them – check out this map to find the location of them all over London. Double-click on any of the markers to get the pub names.

Popular choices include ‘Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese’ at Wine Office Court, 145 Fleet Street, EC4A 2BU and ‘The Chandos, Trafalgar Square’ at 29 St Martin’s Lane, WC2N 4ER.
