The 02 in London

The 02 in London, can be found on the site of the former Millennium Dome in Greenwich. It re-opened to the public on the 24th June 2007.
As far as entertainment districts go, everything you could possibly want is housed in the 02. There is the 02 arena, which has a capacity for 23,000 people. Upcoming concerts include Beyonce, Leona Lewis, Michael McIntyre, Bon Jovi, Pink and the Jingle Bell Ball. Tickets for events held at the O2 are available through Viagogo.

Next up is indig02, which is a music club with a capacity of 2,350. The venue holds smaller events than the 02 arena. Artists such as Jools Holland, Timbaland, Joss Stone and Beverly Knight have performed there in the past.

Entertainment Avenue runs around the outside of the 02 arena and is lined with artificial palm trees and 25 different swanky bars and restaurants such as Gauchos, Frankie and Bennys, haha Bar & Grill, Two Degrees Bar, 02 Blueroom (VIP bar for visitors attending an event at the 02 arena).  Also on Entertainment Avenue is the huge VUE cinema with 11 screens. It could possibly be likened to the inside of a hotel in Las Vegas.

In order to get to the 02 by public transport, you need to take the Jubilee line on the Tube to North Greenwich, which is in zone 2. Unfortunately, due to the Jubilee line sometimes closing at the weekends for engineering works, there have reportedly been huge delays in leaving events held at the 02 in recent times, so please plan your journey in advance. There are also 8 different bus routes – see this map for details. The nearest National Rail station is at Charlton and this is a bus ride away, so not a fantastic option. If you’re visiting the 02 for an event, you could take advantage of the 02 Shuttle Bus service, which departs from Bus stop D and takes you to Charing Cross to connect with nightbuses from Trafalgar Square. This is a one-way journey, available after the event.
